• HEALTHCARE FOR ALL

  • Medicare doesn’t cover enough, and Medicare Supplemental Insurance is too expensive. As a result, we have seniors having to pick and choose what medications they can afford. We work hard and pay our FICA taxes to ensure all retired Americans have healthcare.

  • 30 Million Americans have no healthcare coverage at all. Cuts to the Affordable Care Act last year have left an additional 100,000 South Carolinians without coverage and another 600,000 with increases to their premiums.

Dr Mackins spent over 28 years as an educator and school administrator and recognizes the importance and impact of our public schools on the future generations.

• AFFORDABILITY

  • The Cost of Living is TOO HIGH.

  • The average age of the first time homebuyer is now 40 years old, compared to 29 years old just 20 years ago.

  • Renting has become so expensive that no one can afford to save for their own homes.

  • Groceries and gas prices are too high. People are having to work two or more jobs just to make ends meet. We need to address wage disparity.

  • The average taxpayers are carrying the weight of corporate tax cuts.

Dr Mackins served as enlisted and then as an officer in the US Army during Desert Storm and is an active member of the VFW.

• ACCOUNTABILITY & OPPORTUNITY

  • NO MORE WARS. We wasted more than $20-$30B on the Iran War in just 6 weeks. The US taxpayers paid more than $11.3B in just the first 6 days.

  • NO MORE MEDDLING in the Middle East. We’ve lost enough young Americans over the last 30 years to the numerous conflicts there.

  • IF we can find $30B for a war, we can find the money to provide excellent public education, help with college tuition, healthcare for everyone and opportunities for ALL AMERICANS.
